Restaurant Maydanoz serves all kinds of Eastern-Mediterranean foods originating from the Mediterranean part of Turkey (Antalya, Adana, Antakya, Mersin), but also large parts of countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Greece.
We mainly focus on the Turkish Mediterranean cuisine. Our restaurant’s name ‘Maydanoz’ is Turkish and simply means ‘Parsley’. Parsley is a much-used herb in our Turkish Mediterranean cuisine.
Besides the several main courses that we prepare on our typical charcoal grill, we offer you a wide selection of different ‘mezze’. As well-known from the Spanish cuisine (tapas), in the Eastern Mediterranean cuisine these small starters are being called ‘mezze’. Mezze can be served either cold or warm.
You will find all of these delicious dishes on our menu. All of our dishes are being prepared with only fresh ingredients and biological herbs (we import these herbs from Eastern Turkey ourselves).Restaurant Maydanoz has recently been awarded with a 9 (out of 10) by the well-known Dutch food critic Johannes van Dam. Also, the independent Dutch food critic’s website IENS.nl awarded Restaurant Maydanoz as Amsterdam’s best Turkish restaurant over the years 2012 ,2013,2014,2015 and 2016
